Galatians: A New Creation in Christ

What was Paul so worked up about in his letter to the Galatians? Learn the fascinating backstory to the drama! We'll discover how to follow the strange Old Testament stories to the true good news: that we are now part of God's new, multi-ethnic family of faith who live by the Spirit. We are new creations who live and love like Jesus!

The Church's Story

In the Spring of 2023 we completed The Church’s Story: A Survey of Church History, a video series produced by the Center for Christian Studies and taught by Dr. Keith Stanglin, a professor of historical theology and an excellent teacher.

Each week we had an informative handout and a guided discussion.  See our Church's Story Study Page for access to the discussions, handouts, and additional recommended reading.

At the Table with Jesus

Our fall series was At the Table with Jesus: The Table Ministry in the Gospel of Luke. Spend time with Jesus, studying the passages in which Jesus is at the table - with strangers and friends, followers and enemies, the few and the many.  Jesus teaches in these moments and points us toward communion with God and with others.

About the Refresh Series - Retreats for Women

We host a yearly half -day retreat to provide a time for refreshing women!

“It’s easy for women to focus on what seems to separate us: differences in age, parenting styles, career goals, or maybe even core beliefs about whether leggings can adequately serve as pants (the struggle is real, y’all). The reality, though, is that we have far more in common than we realize, and since Scripture shows us the blessing of friendships across generations, it’s high time we step out of our same-age, same-stage silos. Life is so much better that way. It’s time we open our eyes and see the people God has put in our lives—whether they’re behind us, beside us, or in front of us. It is such a gift to love one another, walk with one another, and soak up the blessings that flow across all generations.” – Sophie Hudson

Join the women of University Avenue Church of Christ and Longhorns for Christ as we spend a few hours together relaxing our bodies, resting our minds, and renewing our hearts as we REFRESH our spirit in a time of food, fellowship, teaching, and fun activities!
