Faith@Home
Faith @ Home is the goal of our Family Ministry.
At UA we believe the home is the primary place where faith is to be nurtured yet we also realize that the majority of people today do not pray in the home, read the Bible in the home, engage in faith talk or any personal devotions. Unfortunately, many church programs have enabled a "let the professionals teach me and my children" attitude and this has led to a program-driven faith rather than a personal faith in the majority of Christians today.
In 2006 we made a decision to make faith at home a priority for our Children's and Youth Ministry.
We partner with parents to create Faith@Home through several avenues that include:
LIVE
LIVE is a 45-minute multimedia experience where kids AND parents learn virtues and make friends together. We hope every family can use LIVE to grow closer to God and grow closer together. We hope that kids AND parents will have a good time learning God's Word, and that you will learn it in a way that will allow you as a family to take home God's plan for your family and share it all month long.
Take-It-Home Events
A series of yearly events where parents and children come together to experience and learn a faith skill that they can begin practicing in their home.
Take-It-Homework
Resource sheets provided as a follow-up to the Sunday teaching that guides individuals and families through questions and activities that will expand on that week's topic.
Family Service Opportunities
Specific days set aside to go out into the community and make a difference.
